Jesus began and ended his ministry expressing his hearts desire for the body of Christ and clearly outlining our task upon the earth today. On meeting Peter and Andrew (Matthew 4:19), Jesus said,"Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." He then proceeded to spend 3 years showing his disciples and many other followers how to be 'fishers of men'. His very life was one of mercy and grace, revealing the Father's heart through what he said and did (John 5:19-20). By the end of that 3 years, he had equipped a small group of believers with the necessary tools to change a city, nation and the then known world. His last command (Mark 16:15-18; Matthew 28:18-20), "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things I have command you," is the proclamation by believers of the very purpose Christ came as expressed in John 3:16-17. In going about our everyday tasks today, whether at work or meeting with friends, be God's love on the earth, show mercy, be full of grace and see non-Christians as Christ would see them. Listen to the Holy Spirit regarding your unsaved friends, pray for them and for opportunities to show them his love and grace. Your actions towards them will speak louder than what you say. If you do not have an unsaved friend then ask God to send you one. Put yourself in a position where you are meeting unsaved people, maybe in your workplace. Begin building relationship with that one person God has placed in your life. Most of us came to know Jesus through one person. Who was that in your life? Be that one person in someone else's life. Make it your lifestyle. Remember: How do you take a city? One person at a time!
